Tremolite is one of the few amphiboles that hasn’t be redefined or renamed. These thumbnails give an almost tourmaline appearance, but are radically different. They can be white, colorless, green, and even pink/violet.
*
It gets its name from its supposed locality in the Tremola Valley in 1789, but further investigation has revealed that it is actually from almost nine miles south of where the original dealer supposedly said it was located.
*
Metaphysically, tremolite is said to be quite empowering; one can gain a sense of inner strength as well as alleviating sadness and depression.
