Cavansite is a somewhat rare mineral, previously no longer producing – that’s infamous for its gorgeous deep blue color and perfect form. Though recently it has begun producing again due to a drought in that area. The previously flooded mines are without water.

It gets its name from its chemical composition, CAlcium VANadium Silicate.
