Diopside is a more common member of the pyroxene group: characterized as a group of inosilicate (chain silicat) minerals with similar general formulas; chrome diopside is a little different due to it’s chromium inclusions which give it that emerald green-like color.

It often occurs in metamorphosed limestones as generally pale greenish to greyish green crystals. It can also be pure white and not distinguishable from its host.
