Crocoite is a vibrant mineral that usually appears in orange or red in color. It is often small needles on a matrix which makes it a more fragile specimen for your collection.

The name of the mineral comes from the Greek word “crocon” which means saffron alluding to its color, but one might also be able to assume it’s in reference to it’s formation as well.
