Morganite is a semi precious mineral that belongs to the beryl group. This particular mineral is actually named after an American banker some of you might recognize: John Pierpoint Morgan. Mindat doesn’t contain a lot of information about Morganite, but since it’s considered a semi-precious mineral, you can find information on gemological sites like gemdat and gia.edu.

This special stone has coloring reminiscent of rose quartz with hues of pink to pink-orange in their perview. The coloring is caused by traces of manganese and because of its distinct pleochroism (an optical phenomenon where a gemstone appears to show different colors when viewed from different angles), great care has to be taken when shaping each bead to keep the color uniform. These polished beads come from a larger vein and are polished to show off their incredible colors. The beads vary in size and shape in each bracelet.

It is not surprising that morganite shares metaphysical similarites to rose quartz with it’s sweet pink color.
