Rootbeer Fluorite | Clay Center, Ohio | CaF2 | Brown Fluorite Specimen

This locality in Ohio is known for producing incredible root beer colored fluorites. We are lucky enough to have obtained some specimens of this unusual fluorite. This locality has been closed for a number of years, so the fluorite from this locality is found in other people’s collections or as old stock.

Pure fluorite is clear – each layer and band was formed from different deposits of solution with various impurities and natural radiation over time, leaving behind gorgeous colors.
