From green to white, these vitreous minerals are typically found in aluminous, metamorphic rocks. Named in honor of Dr. William Wavell, who discovered the mineral, in 1805, Wavellite is actually part of the Wavellite Group.

Crystal forms of Wavellite tend to be more rare, but orthorhombic in shape. They are on the softer side of the Mohs scale at just 3-1/2-4.
